The riding kits comprise helmets, outrider leather jackets and pants, kidney belts, vests and riding boots.
The unit specialises in police escorts for VVIPs, including President Mugabe’s motorcade. Police recently presented the new uniforms to President Mugabe at State House. PPU Escorts cycle trainer Inspector Enoch Johnson, said the riding kit was user-friendly and boosts riders’ confidence.
“It has also been medically recommended that riders should have protective clothing that cover especially the chest and the acquiring of the new uniform is meant to boost the confidence of our riders,” he said.
