POLICE in Harare are looking for two suspects linked to the fatal assault of a man outside a sports bar at Spaceman Shops in Glen Norah A in August.
The two, only identified as Kelvin and Tonderai, are alleged to have dragged the victim outside the bar following a misunderstanding.
They allegedly punched him and smashed his head against a metal door at around 1am on August 2.
On noticing that the victim was bleeding and had sustained deep cuts on the head, the two disappeared.
The man was taken to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital where he died a few hours later.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza described the two who are wanted on murder charges as middle-aged accused men only identified as Kelvin and Tonderai.
The duo allegedly started a quarrel with the man at Igwe Sports bar. They dragged him out of the bar, punched him on the head several times, and forcefully shoved his head against the metal door frame. The victim then fell heavily,” said Insp Chakanza.
“Noticing that the victim was bleeding profusely from the deep cuts sustained on the head and mouth, the pair fled into the darkness. The victim was taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries a few hours later,” he said.
