Police hunt for three robbers

Police have launched a manhunt for three men who recently broke into a house at Checheche growth point armed with various objects and severely assaulted the occupants before vanishing with more than RTGS $2 500.

Manicaland police spokesperson Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa confirmed the incident that occurred on April 5 at around 2am.

He said Aaron Danger (26), Prosper Danger (23), Givemore Danger (21), and Daule Danger (20) of Mahachi village under Chief Garawa broke into Michel Mutisi (36)’s house at Checheche Growth point while he was with his wife Privilege Simango (25).

“The complainant was sleeping with his family and the robbers broke into their house using an unidentified object and they demanded cash,” said Insp Kakohwa.

“The suspects threatened the couple with death if they failed to give them money before assaulting them all over the body with fists and open palms.” Mutisi gave them a satchel with RTGS $3 000. Insp Kakohwa said one of the couple’s neighbours Gideon Chiororo heard their screams and called Chisumbanje police.

When the police arrived, they caught Aaron at the scene, but the other three managed to escape. He is helping police with investigations. Mutisi and his wife were taken to St Peter’s Mission where they are still admitted.
