POLICE in Kwekwe, Midlands Province have launched a manhunt for a farm worker who allegedly fatally struck his employer’s son with a machete following a misunderstanding.
Chikomborero Dzapasi (26) died upon admission to Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo after being struck by a machete once in the forehead allegedly by Munyaradzi Chigora (37) who works at Sunnymeade Farm in Torwood just outside Kwekwe.
Midlands Police Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident which occurred on October 17 at around midnight.“Police are appealing to members of the public who might have information that can help locate
Munyaradzi Chigora (37) to inform any nearest police station,” said Inspector Mahoko.
“Police are investigating a case of murder after Dzapasi died upon admission to Mpilo Hospital, Bulawayo after he was struck with a machete by a worker at his father’s farm. Chigora was working at Sunnymead Farm.
On the day, he was given work instructions by the now deceased who is son to the farm owner.”
A misunderstanding arose after the now deceased quizzed why Chigora had failed to comply with instructions he had given him.
Chigora allegedly struck Dzapasi with a machete on the forehead and the now deceased was rushed to Kwekwe General Hospital where he was further referred to Mpilo Hospital where he died upon admission.
Meanwhile, police in Kwekwe are investigating a case of robbery after suspected robbers pounced on a tuck-shop and went away with cash and other valuables.
Ms Rosilina Dima (39) who runs a tuck-shop at Kurwaisimba Mine in Mnyathi, lost US$250, ZW$9750, a mobile phone and groceries after robbers besieged her tuck-shop during the night.
