A POLICE officer stationed at Bulawayo Central Police Station was left nursing a bleeding lower lip after she was allegedly punched by her husband accusing her of two-timing her.
A source close to the incident said while Constable Thembekile Ndebele and her husband George Muchineripi were having a conversation at their home in Nkulumane suburb, a misunderstanding broke out between them.
Muchineripi allegedly revealed to her that a family member disclosed to him that she was having an extra marital affair, said a family member who requested not to be named.
Seething with anger she grabbed his wife before he landed heavy blows on her head and face.
“She bled from the mouth as she screamed for help. He was not deterred by her screams as he continued punching her all over the body,” said the family member.
The source said Ndebele managed to free herself from his tight grip and fled to the bedroom.
“She ran to the bedroom and locked herself inside. Her husband tried to open the door but he failed. He was subsequently pulled away by neighbours who rushed to the scene after hearing loud bangs on the door and loud screams,” said the source.
Later, she reported the incident at Nkulumane Police Station. Police officers went to look for her husband at the house but they could not find him.
Bulawayo Provincial Spokesperson was not reachable for a comment.Efforts to get a comment from the couple were fruitless.
