Police plead with motorists over Agric show traffic

MOTORISTS have been urged to comply with traffic police officers manning roads leading to the Harare Agricultural Show grounds.

Officer Commanding Harare Traffic, Superintendent Cledwin Madzore, said the volume of traffic to the show increased during preparations.

“As police, we are after reducing the volume of traffic in the Central Business District during the Agricultural Show period,” said Supt Madzore.

“We are urging motorists from the eastern side to use Hebert Chitepo Avenue and connect Bishop Gaul when driving to the showgrounds.

“Those coming from Mbare direction are also urged to connect through Bishop Gaul to the grounds and avoid passing through the CBD.

“We want to warn criminals that police are prepared to deal with anyone who might be tempted to disturb show goers,” said Supt Madzore.

He urged motorists to avoid leaving their valuables in vehicles and make sure they lock doors.
