Police release names of horror accidents victims

POLICE have released the names of 10 people who died in a road traffic accident which occurred at the 193.5km peg along the Harare-Masvingo highway on April 7.

In a statement, national police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said the dead were positively identified as Alfred Nyoni, 45, Peter Maputi, 49, Elizabeth Siwela, 67, Fadzai Chikono, 48, Juliet Mapfumo, 63, Tawanda Chazunguza, Farai Chinyama, 65, Mika Sibanda, 45, Juliet Chauke and four-month-old Godloves Zhou. He also said relatives positively identified people who died in another accident at the 5km peg along the Mvuma-Gweru Road.

They were named as one-year-old Nompumelelo Dube, Fisani Gumbo, 31, Dinha Mabhena, 45, Kudzai Mbirimi, 56, and Thembalethu Nkomo.
