ZIMBABWE Republic Police-run school in Masvingo, Zimuto Camp Primary School has scored a first after it produced 14 pupils with five units each in the 2018 Grade Seven examinations, beating other seven schools under the police in the country.
Speaking on the sidelines of a celebration party at the school on Wednesday last week, the officer commanding Masvingo Commissioner Elias Mvere praised the school for its hard work and singled out two teachers for the results.
For its exploits, the school scooped five accolades offered by the Police Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga which includes best ZRP School in 2018, best headmaster, best results, school with highest distinctions and best schools with 100 percent pass rate.
“Allow me to single out the two teachers who netted the final goals that made history. Our own Knowledge Musona and Khama Billiat, Constables Richard Manyangadze and Eustina Jan. You fought a good fight as you put our school on the academic radar. We are here to celebrate success and recognise the hard work done by Zimuto Camp Primary School. One anonymous scholar once said, ‘when you fail you stand alone but when you succeed the whole world celebrates with you’,” he said.
Comm Mvere said the school’s performance attracted the police’s leadership and it received a number of prizes for the achievement.
The school head, Chief Inspector Levy Ngulube said the school was doing well because the staff worked as a team.
