into a house in the Limpopo View suburb.
Police Officer Commanding Beitbridge district Chief Superintendent Lawrence Chinhengo, said the four will appear in court soon facing charges of unlawful entry. He said they had since recovered tools such as boltcutters, iron bars, hacksaws, hammers and chisels among other equipment used in committing the crime.
Chief Sup Chinhengo said the gang had been targeting cellphones and electrical gadgets such as stoves and DVD players and bicycles in Dulibadzimu.
“We have arrested four suspects, Irvine Moyo (40) who is implicated as the mastermind and three others, Mufaro Nyoni (20), Simbarashe Maburutse (24) and Mathew Musinangura (24) all of no fixed abode in Beitbridge.
“Apparently we arrested Nyoni, Maburutse and Musinangura at a house in the low density suburb who then implicated Irvine as their ring leader.
“They then led us to 10 houses where they had broken into. We then recovered their tools of trade including bolt cutters, chisels, hacksaws, iron bars and hammers which they used in committing the crimes.
“Investigations are in progress and we are yet to recover some of the stolen property. Since their arrest we have had very few cases of unlawful entry in the border town.
“We want to warn other members of the group that their days are numbered,” said Chief Supt Chinhengo.
