Police to confiscate Tanyanyiwa’s gun

Edith to have the police take the gun.
Mr Everson Chatambudza represented Tanyanyiwa while Mrs Fadzai Maenzanise represented Edith in the case at the civil court.
Both parties agreed to authorise the police to have the firearm ceased and removed from Anandale Farm, Banket and be kept by the police.
They also consented on a reciprocal protection order, which binds both parties to observe peace towards each other.
Circumstances are that Edith approached the civil court seeking a protection order against her husband Tanyanyiwa.
She indicted that he threatened to shoot her and their four children before turning the gun on himself for refusing to sell farm property.
The couple is legally married under Chapter 5:11 and has four children.
On March 26 while Tanyanyiwa was under house arrest he asked his wife to bring him his medication.
Upon delivering the medication Tanyanyiwa ordered her to sell property at their Anandale Farm in Banket and hand over the money to him and she refused. This infuriated Tanyanyiwa and he swore that as soon as his bail conditions were relaxed six people would die when he set foot at the farm. According to Edith, this was not the first time Tanyanyiwa threatened to shoot her.
On November 15 2009, he threatened to shoot her in front of their children following a domestic dispute.
“He brandished a gun at me and the children until I rushed and locked myself in one of the rooms.
“The gun is licensed and it is in a safe at the farm, I am scared that he will take it and use it to kill me,” she said.
