EIGHT top performing teams in Bulawayo Pool Leagues’ 2019 action will next Saturday converge on Skittle Inn for the champions league top accolade fight that is expected to draw a capacity crowd.

The teams that will do battle are Bulawayo Pool Association (BPA) Premier League champions Entumbane, first runners-up Lobengula Sharks, Bulawayo Central District League winners Zimra and their runners up South World.

Also set to take part are 2019 Mzilikazi District League victors Nkulumane Pool Club, the league’s second best team West Commonage, BPA Cup holders Skittle Inn and Kings who won this year’s edition of City of Kings’ Easter Cup.

“It’s an exciting concept that we took from football and as such we are going to have eight teams that did well this season competing in the champions league. It’s another way of shutting down our season and we expect Skittle Inn to fill to the rafters,” said BPA publicity officer Farai Nyandoro.

Meanwhile, the Carling Black Label National Pool Championships will continue on Saturday with action set to take place in Kadoma, Gweru, Murehwa, Zvishavane, Gwanda, Beitbridge and Bindura.

Last weekend, the matches were held in Marondera, Chipinge, Chiredzi, Mrewa/Mutoko, Rusape, Chitungwiza, Kariba and Hwange.
Bulawayo will have its matches being played on Saturday at Stop Over Bar.

Winners from the provincial competitions will qualify for the national tournament.

In the finals, there will be 64 men and 32 women battling it out to win prizes. Carling Black Label will be rewarding the two winners, from the men and women’s divisions with a pool table and $10 000.
