Mangore immediately appealed against the judgment as he sought to have the life ban rescinded and replaced with a lesser sentence.
The appeal hearing has been set for later this week and will be chaired by BPA chairman Godfrey Kondo who will appoint a sub-committee to deal with the issue.
Mangore’s charges arose from his punch-up with Donald Wadawu the chairman of the referee’s committee.
The two were involved in a clumsy bust-up following a disputed frame over which Wadawu was umpiring. The bust-up left Wadawu with a swollen face and bruises.
The incident was roundly condemned by the BPA which had through Mangore’s portfolio been campaigning against hooliganism and violence at matches forcing Mangore to resign from his post.
Meanwhile, up to eight teams are staring relegation in the face as the action builds up to a heart-stopping finale in the BPA Premier league.
With seven games to go in the top flight league, Donnington, Mnethi, Drill Hall, Gold and Black, Mirriams, Paparazzi, West Commonage and JZ Ebunandini are facing the prospect of playing Division One pool next season.
Four teams will take the walk of shame to the less fashionable Division One at the death of the season with four teams from the lower league getting promoted to the Premiership.
Kings, Exchange, Entumbane and Skittle Inn sit comfortably at the top of the Premiership log with only three points separating leaders Kings and runners-up Exchange. Exchange however have a game under dispute with Gold and Black.
Should they bag that one they will then share top spot with Kings setting the stage for a bruising season ender.
“Our league is in the twilight zone where relegation and promotion matters are at stake. We are looking forward to an interesting end,” said Wadawu, the BPL spokesman.
In Division One, Golden Lions appear to have but sealed their upgrade to Premiership pool having lost only twice in 20 outings. The trailblazing police outfit lost their second game this past weekend when they fell by the hand of Nketa 8-5.
They are likely to be joined by any three from Nkulumane, ZRP Central, Fast Cash, Heroes and Shumba in their upgrade to the Premier League next season.
