CELEBRATED Gweru-based gospel musician, Moscow Pembere on Africa Day released two singles as a fitting tribute to the grace of God which he says has sustained his musical career yielding him international recognition.
“I have been working on two tracks accompanied by videos that were released on Africa Day. I am optimistic that fans will enjoy my music as they did my last offering, “Gore Rapera” which made it to the top of the charts locally as well as on Radio 54 Africa Panorama, competing with other songs from the African region.”
The 34-year-old Pembere has worked with giants in the music industry including the likes of Baba Charamba, Olinda Marowa, Sebastian Magacha and Vadzidzi va Jesu.
“I have worked with senior musicians and I draw a lot of inspiration from how that has helped shape my own projects. I am proud of the support and guidance that I continue to get from my mentors. My fans in the Midlands province continue to motivate me and spur me to greater heights. Though Covid-19 has disrupted our live shows I continue to enjoy their online support.”
The gospel star’s fame rose after his song was voted the best song of the year at the 2018 Midlands Arts Awards.
Pembere, who is a devout Christian, said he grew up singing in the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) Church choir and received a lot of Christian mentorship when he was growing up.
