A Harare woman was thoroughly assaulted by her husband after he discovered pornographic videos and images in her mobile phone.
Enate Chiwaka has since taken her husband Murambiwa Chiwaka to the Harare Civil Courts seeking a protection order.
She told magistrate Mr Trevor Nyatsanza that Murambiwa was in the habit of assaulting her over petty issues.
“He physically and verbally abuses me in front of our children,” she said.
“I want the court to protect me because this man is a big threat to my life and I want that to end.”
Murambiwa admitted to assaulting Enate.
He said he assaulted his wife once after discovering pornographic images and videos in her mobile phone.
“I only assaulted her once when I discovered pornographic images and videos of her with her boyfriend in her mobile phone,” he said.
Mr Nyatsanza granted the application in Enate’s favour.
He barred Murambiwa from physically or verbally abusing his wife.
