HIGHLANDERS’ fortunes continued on the high yesterday, a few days after a morale and confidence building win over Dynamos in the Jairos Jiri Shield when philanthropist Wicknell Chivayo gave four cars to club personalities.

On the receiving end yesterday were board chairman Luke Mnkandla, head coach Benjani Mwaruwari, chief executive officer Denzil Mnkandla and legend Madinda Ndlovu, who will drive home high-range vehicles on Friday.

Bosso started the week on a high beating Dynamos 1-0 at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday. It was a match in which Mwaruwari was literally confirmed as right for the job by the ever-demanding Bosso crowd.
Some players appeared to have impressed fans, in particular, the central defence partnership of Tawanda Shenje and Nomore Chinyerere.

But the stars shone brighter for Bosso yesterday morning as Chivayo pledged the immediate release of US$500 000 as part of the million pledged in June last year with the other half having been disbursed already.

The money is expected to improve player welfare and help in the acquisition of new players.

The club benefactor is keen to see Bosso compete with the best in 2026.
Chivayo said a motivated and well run team will always deliver, and he appears to have set the tone for a good season with his benevolence.

“A motivated and well led team will always deliver results!”

Chivayo said Highlanders’ win over Dynamos showed that the team is on the rise.

“Highlanders FC’s 1–0 victory over Dembare clearly shows that Bosso is on the rise. We are surely set for an interesting 2026 Premier Soccer League season where Highlanders FC shall offer stiff competition against all odds.

“In recognition of this win, I say big congratulations to the leadership of Highlanders FC, who must request the club’s Curator Mr Jabulani Nkomo to accompany them to Harare on Friday to see Victor at Exquisite Car Dealership and collect the following motor vehicles, which have been fully paid for;

“The Head Coach, the legendary Benjani Mwaruwari, please collect a brand new 2026 Ford Everest 3.0D L.E (Limited Edition) valued at US$92,000; the club chairman Mr Luke Mnkandla, please collect a brand new Toyota Fortuner 2.8 4×2 GD6 valued at US$80,500; the substantive CEO Mr Denzil Mnkandla, please collect a brand new Toyota Fortuner 2.4 4×2 GD6 valued at US$72,500.

“Chairman of the Highlanders Legends Team, our yesteryear football talisman Madinda Ndlovu, please collect a brand new Toyota Fortuner 2.4 GD6 4×2 valued at US$72,500.”

Madinda was applauded for his support and endorsement of the developmental leadership of H.E. President Cde E.D Mnangagwa and Vision 2030, whose socio-economic transformation will ultimately benefit sport, particularly football.

The quartet will receive US$10,000 each for fuel and pocket money for their return trip to Bulawayo.
The club curator Nkomo, will also collect US$10 000 so will his wife, Busi. “It is my sincere hope and expectation that, with such financial support, the Club will be able to sign new players and adequately motivate the current players by attending to their welfare and needs. “The Club must now focus on delivering results and ensure that the 2026 Season will be a resounding success. 2026 will be the year for Bosso to reclaim its rightful place in the PSL!”
