Possession of machete earns Kwekwe man two months imprisonment

The Kwekwe Magistrates’ Court has convicted a 26-year-old man, Honest Dube for violating a prohibition order, after being found with a machete.

Dube was sentenced to two months imprisonment.
In a statement, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe revealed that Dube was seen by members of the public holding a machete in violation of the Prohibition order.

“On the 12th of May 2025 at around 1.30am and along a dust road near Victory Life Church, Rutendo, Redcliff, the accused person was seen by members of the public holding a machete leading to his arrest for violation of a

Prohibition order issued on the 4th April 2025,” reads the statement

The NPAZ highlighted the importance of community safety and protecting neighbourhoods, noting that public vigilance played a role in the arrest.
