Pote Hill Hotel has embarked on $400,000 refurbishment exercise which is expected to be completed before the end of the year. The facelift will culminate in the hospitality concern applying for a three star status from the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA). If approved the entity will become the only hotel with three star status in the Midlands and the region’s most prestigious.
The first phase of the revamping of the hotel is expected to be completed by the end of July.

Work on the refurbishment which includes replacing old furniture with modern furnishings and upgrading of the rooms has already begun.
Victor Mavingire, Pote Hills Hotel manager said the refurbishment has been necessitated by the need to respond to the needs of the hotel’s clientele.
The hotel which is located at the heart of Zvishavane which is the hub of mining activities in the province mainly draws its clientele from players in the sector.

“We are embarking on a refurbishment exercise which is expected to be complete before the end of the year and this will include redesigning the rooms and replacing the existing equipment with modern furniture. Once we are done we will apply to ZTA to grant us three star status.

“The hotel management has decided to pursue this root as a way of responding to the market as our clients want first class service and have minimum expectations for the service they want,” he said.

Mavingire said the hotel has already recruited qualified first class chefs and waiters in its quest to attain three star status.
The hotel recently retained the Best Hospitality of the Year award at the recently held Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce provincial awards held in Gweru recently.
