As part of its mandate under the Cyber and Data Protection Act, POTRAZ is conducting awareness campaigns across the country, focusing on areas that often lack access to information technology.

In an interview during a campaign in Gutu, POTRAZ consumer affairs manager Mr Phibion Chaibva said it is important to empower rural residents with knowledge about their digital rights.

“We want to bridge the gap between urban and rural areas, ensuring that everyone understands their rights and obligations in the digital age,” he said.

The campaigns aim to educate rural folks on data privacy best practices such as not sharing personal information with strangers and protecting their devices with strong passwords.
