ZACC arrests two Mberengwa Hospital staffers for fraud

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested two Mberengwa District Hospital officials, Otin Hungwe and Priviledge Mafa for fraud.

Hungwe, a human resources officer and Mafa, a general hand, allegedly connived to defraud the Ministry of Health and Child Care by submitting false claims for Mafa’s night duty allowance to the Salary Service Bureau.

As a result of the misrepresentation, the Ministry of Health and Child Care paid Mafa a night duty allowance, thereby prejudicing the Government.

The two have since appeared at Mberengwa Magistrate Court and were remanded out of custody to October 10 on $200 bail each.
