POWER Sessions is set to host a comedy show tomorrow at the Harvest House International church in Bulawayo to bring awareness on the importance of men’s mental health.

The initiative was launched last year in February by Poet Chester and the poetry sessions are held on the last Wednesday of every month.

The event is run under the theme ‘men’s mental health is wealth’ which is set to demystify stereotypes surrounding men’s mental health.

Frank Chirisa said the goal of the event is to celebrate men’s mental health.

“This month, we are celebrating men’s mental health and we want to educate them on the importance of being vulnerable. We have realised that a number of men are dying silently and have resorted to suicide and drugs to deal with mental health issues,” he said.

Chirisa said they have new themes every month for the comedy power sessions.

“We have different themes every month and a rotation of acts, there is comedy, poetry, music, beatboxing and magic.

“Tomorrow, l will be performing alongside D’juni, TBeatx, Chester, Hiirev, Iconic and Ty the Royal.

Chirisa highlighted that has an upcoming comedy special.

“I am excited to connect with the Power Sessions audience and am currently working on my upcoming comedy special,” he said.
