PPC postpones golf day

Mehluli Sibanda, Senior Sports Reporter
PPC Zimbabwe have postponed their golf day which was meant to take place in Victoria Falls on Saturday.
In announcing the postponement, PPC Zimbabwe said the rescheduling of the charity event has been necessitated by the rise in coronavirus cases in the country.

“We would like to inform you that the PPC Golf Day which was scheduled for the 26th of June 2021, has been postponed. This postponement has taken place in light of the increasing number of Covid-19 cases and preventative restrictions that have been put in place to curb the spread of the virus,’’ said PPC Zimbabwe.

The postponement also came about as sporting activity was suspended in the country. With golf and other low risk sports now given the green light to resume by the Sports and Recreation Commission, PPC Zimbabwe are now looking to have the event on a soon to be announced date.

It is the second postponement announced by PPC Zimbabwe in recent days. The cement manufacturer was last Tuesday meant to officially hand over a science and computer laboratory at Sojini High School in Mbembesi.

However, that event has been postponed after the Government banned gatherings as part of measures to control the spread of Covid-19 and will take place as soon as gatherings are allowed. — @Mdawini_29.
