PRAYERS are pouring in for Bishop T.D. Jakes, the founding pastor of the Potter’s House Church, a mega-church based in Dallas, after he suffered a health incident live on stage on Sunday.

T.D. Jakes was on stage on Sunday finishing an hour-long sermon when he lowered his microphone and began to experience breathing challenges.

His aides quickly surrounded him on stage.

The 66-year-old cleric recently travelled to Harare to celebrate with his close friend, Bishop Tudor Bismark, who was marking 50 years of ministry.

During his visit, T.D. Jakes also spoke with students at the Star Leadership Academy, sharing wisdom and inspiration.

T.D. Jakes called his visit to Zimbabwe “a wonderful experience.”

He added:

“I celebrated my friend Bishop Tudor Bismark and his 50 years of ministering the word of God.

“My visit to Harare, Zimbabwe, was such great joy! I celebrated my friend Bishop Tudor Bismark and his 50 years of ministering the Word of God at the 2024 Jubilee Conference.

“God is working wonders throughout the world. Until next time, Zimbabwe.”

Precious Mavhura, who was one of those who watched T.D. Jakes from close range during his visit to Harare,  told H-Metro:

“This saddens my heart, l attended his sermon a few weeks ago when he was in Zimbabwe.

“He preached for more than 1 hours 30 minutes, standing, singing and delivering the word of God.

“Seeing all this has really moved me.

“He looked well and fit, I hope he gets better very soon.”

In a statement shared via Facebook his ministry said:

“During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message.

“Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals. The entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community.

“Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers.”

Speaking on Instagram, his daughter Sarah Jakes Roberts and son-in-law Toure Roberts, expressed gratitude for the prayers and support.

“He’s doing well,” Toure Roberts said. “Today could have been a tragic day but it wasn’t.

“I’m so grateful that he’s already beginning to improve,”

Sarah Jakes Roberts said.

“It’s a reminder that even going into this holiday season, we need to love the people who you hold near and dear and just take the time to be grateful for all the people God has given you.”
