Pregnant teen stabs man over debt

A 16-YEAR-OLD pregnant girl has appeared in court for allegedly stabbing a 22-year-old neighbour with a knife over a $10 debt. The girl, who cannot be named to protect her identity as a minor appeared before Gweru Regional Magistrate Morgan Nemadire facing an attempted murder charge. The heavily pregnant teenager was remanded out of custody to April 4 for sentencing.She pleaded guilty and asked the court not to imprison her saying she was eight months

pregnant.

Prosecuting, Kelvin Guveya said on October 24 last year, the girl had a misunderstanding with the complainant over $10 that the complainant had borrowed from her about two months earlier. — The Chronicle.
