Premier delivers more equipment at Zulu lithium project

PREMIER African Minerals Limited, which is developing the Zulu Lithium and Tantalum Project in Insiza District, Matabeleland South province continues to take delivery of massive equipment on site in readiness for mining operations.

In the past weeks, the mining firm has been receiving an assortment of equipment with most of it having been installed.

The mining firm is targeting production in the first quarter of next year at its Zulu Lithium project,

Today, posting on its official Twitter account, a giant TOMRA sorting structure is shown being offloaded for construction placement.

Other infrastructure ranging from a 15-cube overflow stockpile conveyor and a five-cube feeder bins that hosts the product from the crushers have been installed.

The tailings dam foundation has already been laid and is projected to have a 31-meter-long dam wall from ground level.

In its last trade update on 20 December, the mining firm said civil support construction both at the plant site and the main masonry arch dam progresses well and remain on target to produce spodumene in the first quarter of this year.

Lithium is a mineral used in the manufacture of batteries and its demand has risen sharply because of the demand for electric cars, especially in developed countries, which are forging ahead with plans to phase out fossil fuels such as petrol and diesel in the next coming years.
