
WITH all screen and plant upgrades and modifications now complete, London-listed Premier African Minerals expects to restart the processing plant at the RHA tungsten project, in Zimbabwe later this week.
Premier CEO Mr George Roach said in an update to shareholders on Tuesday that electrical reticulation was set to take place over next two days at the operation.
“The team has done a great job despite various delays in making the required upgrades and changes to the plant, which is all complete now.
We expect to start running the plant later this week, once the electrical reticulation is finished,” he said.
The multi-commodity resource development giant is spearheading the new project in Hwange, which is expected to add impetus to the growth of the mining sector in the country.
Last year the company installed equipment worth about $4 million for the flagship project.
The company has said relevant infrastructure is already in place, including power and water supply.
Premier is the operator of RHA and holds a 49 percent stake in the venture in line with the country’s indigenisation regulations.
The RHA project is expected to process 8,000 t/m of run-of-mine ore and produce, on average, 92 t/m of concentrate at 63 percent tungsten trioxide.
The AIM listed multi-commodity natural resource company with mineral projects across Southern and West Africa.
The company has a diverse portfolio of projects, which includes tungsten, rare earth elements, gold, lithium and tantalum in Zimbabwe and Togo, encompassing brownfield projects with near -term production potential to grass roots exploration.
