PREPARATIONS for the forthcoming Interdenominational Christian Singles Retreat are gathering momentum, with organisers expecting hundreds of participants from across the country to converge for the empowerment gathering aimed at transforming lives, strengthening relationships and promoting spiritual growth.
The retreat, which will be held from June 5 to 6 at Habitation of Hope Campsite in Twentydales Extension, Hatfield, Harare, is already attracting significant interest among Christian singles, church leaders and professionals seeking guidance on relationships, personal development and emotional healing.
Leading the programme as facilitator will be respected chaplain and counsellor Chaplain Dr Leo Mupanduki, whose growing influence in mentorship, pastoral counselling and family empowerment has made him one of the most sought-after speakers within Christian circles.
Dr Mupanduki is expected to spearhead discussions focusing on emotional wellness, relationship building, personal identity and spiritual restoration, areas organisers say are increasingly affecting many single adults in modern society.
The retreat will run under the banner of the Interdenominational Christian Singles Hub and is being organised by relationship and marriage therapist coach Dr Master Coach A Nyabanga, alongside a team of church leaders and life coaches.
Organisers said the event seeks to provide a safe and empowering platform where single adults can openly engage on issues affecting their lives while receiving spiritual guidance and practical mentorship.
Speaking ahead of the gathering, Chaplain Dr Mupanduki said many people were silently battling loneliness, rejection, emotional wounds and uncertainty about relationships, making such platforms critically important.
“This gathering is about restoration, healing and helping people rediscover purpose,” he said.
“We are creating an environment where individuals can openly confront personal challenges, grow spiritually and build healthy relationships grounded in Christian values.”
Dr Mupanduki said society often overlooked the emotional and psychological pressures affecting single adults, yet many required mentorship, counselling and encouragement.
“People need hope, direction and practical wisdom. We want participants to leave empowered, renewed and equipped to make sound life decisions,” he said.
The retreat is expected to feature practical sessions on self-discovery, healing from past experiences, deliverance, relationship preparation and personal growth.
Topics to be covered include “Get to Know Him/Her”, “Inward Journey”, “Lament and Release”, “Deliverance and More” and discussions on anti-marital curses.
Other facilitators expected to participate include Pastor Winnie Bajila, Bishop Dr Emmanuel Bawa, Dr J Chinoperekwi and Dr Master Coach Nyabanga.
Dr Nyabanga said interest in the retreat had continued to grow as more people recognised the importance of mentorship and emotional wellness.
“We are witnessing overwhelming interest because people are searching for answers, healing and meaningful connections,” he said.
“This is not merely a conference, but a transformational platform designed to uplift lives and strengthen communities.”
The growing popularity of faith-based empowerment gatherings reflects increasing demand for programmes that combine spiritual teachings with counselling, mentorship and life coaching.
