Presidency sends condolence message to Shamu family

In a statement yesterday, Chief Secretary to the Presidency and Cabinet Dr Mischeck Sibanda sent a message on behalf of President Mugabe and Cabinet members.

“On behalf of His Excellency, the President and members of the Cabinet expresses profound sorrow to the Minister of Media, Information and Publicity, Cde Webster Shamu following the death of his mother.

“May you take comfort in the knowledge that your colleagues in Cabinet and indeed in the whole of Government grieve with you as you mourn the loss of a caring mother, grandmother and family pillar.”

The office of the Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces also sent its condolences. “As you and the Shamu family go through this difficult period, may it comfort you to know that the ZDF commiserates with you over this sad loss.”

Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr Mohammed Pournajaf said: “I beseech God Almighty to bestow peace and mercy for her as well as patience and perseverance for you Honourable Minister, the family and nation of Zimbabwe.”
