President Mnangagwa has commissioned the Mutoko Bioeconomy Industrial Park here in Mutoko, Mashonaland East.
In his address at the commissioning ceremony which drew hundreds of people, the President said this is another landmark achievement that testifies Zimbabwe’s resolute march towards rural industrialisation.
“Facilities such as this one are now dotted across various parts of our country.
“They have become centres of independent innovation,” he said.
President Mnangagwa said increased production and productivity in Zimbabwe have resulted in job creation.
He also emphasised the importance of the education sector in the country’s development agenda.
“The Heritage-Based Education 5.0 is enabling our motherland Zimbabwe to build a knowledge-based economy driven by our own people,” he said.

Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Minister, Ambassador Frederick Shava said the commissioning of the plant is a result of the Second Republic’s efforts to propel rural industrialisation.
Ambassador Shava also lauded President Mnangagwa for signing off the Constitutional Amendment Act.
In his remarks, Mashonaland East Provincial Affairs and Devolution Ministet Itai Ndudzo said the industrial park is a manifestation of the country’s vision of attaining upper-middle income status by 2030.
Also in attendance was Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet Dr Martin Rushwaya, his deputy and Presidential Spokesperson Mr George Charamba, Cabinet Ministers, Service Chiefs and other senior Government officials.
