PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has been honoured with the Munhumutapa Leadership Excellence Award, acknowledging his significant contributions to national development.

The recognition reflects the President’s commitment to Zimbabwe’s development agenda and his leadership style.

The Second Republic, under President Mnangagwa’s guidance, continues to implement transformative projects across all 10 provinces, embodying the philosophy of “leaving no one and no place behind.”
During the award ceremony, Legacy TV executive director Cde Pardon Mangwende, highlighted the award as a recognition of President Mnangagwa’s vision for transforming the country into an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.

“This award reflects President Mnangagwa’s political will to stimulate socio-economic growth and enhance the quality of life for all Zimbabweans.

“We are witnessing significant developmental strides, including road rehabilitation, food security initiatives, and efforts to control inflation,” said Cde Mangwende.

He also noted that the award underscores the guiding philosophy of “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo/Ilizwe lakhiwa ngabanikazi balo”, emphasising that Zimbabwe’s progress should be driven by its citizens.

The award aligns with the commemoration of Munhumutapa Day on September 15, which coincides with the President’s birthday and signifies a connection between modern leadership and the historical legacy of the Mutapa Empire, known for its strong governance and prosperity.

The accolade is part of the broader 2024/2025 Legacy Empowerment Awards, which recognised various Zanu-PF members for their dedication to the party and nation.

President Mnangagwa continues to call for unity, hard work and innovation as Zimbabwe moves toward its Vision 2030 development goals.

Cde Mangwende also mentioned that recipients of the awards would receive monetary rewards as a commitment to serving the nation.
