‘President in control over financial sector’

The Government will win the economic war with President Mnangagwa determined to overcome economic challenges arising in the nation, Zanu PF secretary for science and technology Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa has said.

Addressing members of the party during a meeting of the Provincial Co-ordinating Committee in Chinhoyi yesterday, Ambassador Mutsvangwa said Government was going to win the economic war, as it did with the war of liberation.

His remarks come after the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe recently suspended mobile money agents and converted merchant lines for one-way traffic as it sought to investigate and address allegations that these lines had been used for speculative behaviour.

President Mnangagwa was making the necessary reforms, said Ambassador Mutsvangwa.

“The way we dealt with the Rhodesian during the liberation struggle is how we are going to deal with the saboteurs. Government’s external and internal oppositions have been using financial instability to further their regime change agenda and to try and topple a democratically elected government.”
