INDEPENDENT aspiring councillor for Ward 8 in Bulawayo Mr Newman Ndlovu, who is also the chairman for Mzilikazi Residents Association, has commended President Mnangagwa for his servant leadership, adding that he joined politics to emulate Cde Mnangagwa.
In an interview, Mr Ndlovu said President Mnangagwa is a transparent leader who has shown true leadership qualities.
“I have been serving my community since 2006 and never had that enthusiasm of serving my community as a political figure but ED has shown me that one can sincerely serve his people with love and transparency even when he is a political figure.
“I worked for my community —Ward 8 as a development committee member, committee member of the Community Rehabilitation Programme in conjunction with the Home Based Care and Jairos Jiri Association and I also worked in the committee of Crime Prevention Unit with Mzilikazi police representing Makokoba,” he said.
Mr Ndlovu added that he wanted to continue helping the community at political level.
Meanwhile, Umzingwane Ward 16 independent candidate Mr Nkanyiso Dube has lauded the new political dispensation ushered in by President Mnangagwa, describing as the most democratic as it has granted the people all civil liberties never seen before in the country.
He said the campaigning environment was as peaceful and free as never seen in independent Zimbabwe while the media coverage was top notch and not selective.
