President meets Mash West leadership

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has urged the ZANU-PF Mashonaland West leadership to maintain peace and desist from seeking vengeance to settle old political scores.

President Mnangagwa had a brief meeting with the provincial leadership after officiating at the Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) graduation ceremony last Friday.

He urged the leadership to be exemplary and to work towards the consolidation of unity and prosperity of the nation. “Let us all be united and work together for the development of our nation. Let us all be progressive Zimbabweans who aim high to achieve the best as citizens of this nation,” he said.

He said peace and unity are key enablers for nation-building and economic development.

“There is no need for retribution for this country is ours together. Let us shun all criminal elements which may destabilise the peace of our nation,” he said. The meeting was attended by Senate president Cde Edna Madzongwe, Minister of State for Mashonaland West Province Cde Webster Shamu, Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Cde Prisca Mupfumira and Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi, among others.
