MUTARE, Manicaland Province — President Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived at Fern Hill Campus for the third graduation ceremony of the Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences (MSUAS).
Following a briefing, the President is set to lead the procession as the university prepares to celebrate the achievements of its graduates.

A total of 153 graduates from various faculties, including Engineering, Applied Sciences and Technology, Applied Social Sciences, and Agribusiness Management, will be capped during today’s ceremony. Among them, eight graduates have achieved First Class Degrees, with three females and five males recognised for their exceptional academic performance.
The standout achievements include Gamuchirai Chigaro, the top female graduate, who completed her B. Engineering in Metallurgy Honours Degree with an impressive 34 distinctions. The best male student, Tinashe Nhapi, graduated with a B. Engineering in Mining and Mineral Processing Honours Degree, earning 33 distinctions.

This year’s ceremony is themed “Advancing Sustainable Production, Industrialisation, and Modernization through Research and Innovation,” reflecting the university’s commitment to contributing to Zimbabwe’s developmental goals.
Established in 2016 through the Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences Act Chapter 25:31, MSUAS aligns with the government’s initiative to establish state universities in each province, reinforcing the importance of higher education in fostering innovation and economic growth
