President Mnangagwa arrives in Ethiopia for AU 39th Summit

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa who left Harare this afternoon has arrived in Ethiopia where he is expected to join his counterparts at the African Union’s (AU) 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government Summit which starts on Saturday in Addis Ababa.

He was received at Bole International Airport by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister, Professor Amon Murwira, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ambassador Albert Chibindi, Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ms Sophia Nyamudeza and Embassy staff.

The President is accompanied by Agriculture, Lands, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development Minister, Dr Anxious Masuka, Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet Dr Martin Rushwaya and the Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet (Presidential Communications), Mr George Charamba.

Prof Murwira attended the Ministerial Session of the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council that began yesterday.

The Summit is running under the theme “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063″.
