President Mnangagwa is expected to attend the meeting.
Committee members have already started arriving, with thematic committees currently deliberating on various issues.
High-profile party officials, including Chairman Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, have also arrived, while President Mnangagwa is expected soon.
VP Chiwenga arrives
Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has arrived at Zanu PF headquarters for the party’s Central Committee meeting.
The Vice President has since proceeded to a briefing session.

Thematic committees are now wrapping up their meetings, with President Mnangagwa expected shortly.
Central Committee members share light moments ahead of meeting
There is a lively atmosphere here as Central Committee members take time to reconnect ahead of their meeting today.
Under the partly cloudy Harare skies, party members can be seen exchanging greetings, laughter, and a mixture of light and deep conversations, setting a warm tone before proceedings begin.


Adding to the jovial mood, Cde Joseph Chinotimba emerged and playfully fired a salvo at members of the media.

“Are all these people journalists? Some of you could be fake,” he quipped, drawing huge laughter from the fourth estate.
The occasion has been further brightened as Central Committee members are in vibrant party regalia.

Dressed in green, red, yellow and black outfits, their colours stand out brilliantly, adding a festive touch to the gathering.
Overall, the mood remain calm and relaxed as members await the arrival of President Mnangagwa.
First Lady arrives
First Lady and Secretary for Environment and Tourism, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, has arrived at the Zanu PF Headquarters for the Central Committee meeting.

Central Committee members get number plates
ZANU PF Central Committee members have received registration plates for their party-issued vehicles.
This follows a directive by the Zimbabwe Republic Police requiring all vehicles operating on the country’s roads to be fitted with number plates.

The party has since complied with the directive, with members from all 10 provinces receiving and signing for their registration plates this morning.
Members expressed satisfaction with the development, saying the plates will help ensure that party vehicles are not abused.
Role of the Central Committee
The Central Committee serves as the principal organ of the Party Congress and is composed of 230 members selected from the Party’s ten provinces nationwide.
When Congress is not in session, the Central Committee assumes its mandate, executing all policies, resolutions, directives, decisions, and programs adopted by Congress.

It functions as the Party’s highest decision-making body between Congress sittings and convenes once every three months to deliberate on strategic matters and oversee implementation
President arrives
President Mnangagwa has arrived for the Central Committee meeting.
He was welcomed with song and dance by members of the Women’s League.

The President is currently in a briefing and is expected to address the Central Committee shortly.
Members are already seated in the main auditorium.
Programme goes into a closed session
The President has entered the venue to mark the beginning of the official programme.

He was given a resounding welcome by committee members singing revolutionary songs, chanting slogans in support of Vision 2030 and the Amendment Bill No.3.
The programme started with the singing of the national anthem.
