THIS afternoon, President and First Secretary of the ruling ZANU-PF party, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa, led an Extra-Ordinary Session of the Politburo at the party headquarters in Harare.
The meeting has been convened to deliberate on the recommendation for hero status for the late Cde Jason William Chezhira Chirinda, who passed away on October 27, 2024.
The proposal for Cde Chirinda’s hero status was put forward by the Mashonaland Central Provincial Coordinating Committee.
Cde Mnangagwa requested Acting Secretary General Cde Jacob Mudenda to present the recommendation statement to the assembly.
The deliberations are expected to highlight Cde Chirinda’s contributions to the party and the nation, as members consider his legacy and the significance of bestowing hero status.
