PRESIDENT Mnangagwa, who is the incoming chairman of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), has re-affirmed his commitment to working closely with all regional Heads of states in driving the attainment of regional integration goals within the bloc.
Zimbabwe is set to host this year’s SADC Summit in Harare next month where President Mnangagwa would assume chairmanship of the 16-member bloc. Already preparations for the high-level summit are in full swing with Government leaving no stone unturned to ensure successful hosting of the premier event.
As a built up to the summit, the country would also host the SADC Industrialization Week with a focus on unlocking regional production value chains through harnessing technology and boosting infra-regional trade.
Speaking here during the signing of the Tripartite Agreement to operationalise the US$6.5 billion Technobanine Deep Water Port Project, which includes a railway line linking Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Botswana, President Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe was determined to play its part in contributing to the region’s transformation.
