River Valley properties leads Gweru residents in clean-up campaign

RIVER Valley Properties Private Limited Company’s group chief executive officer Dr Smelly Dube on Friday led Gweru residents and the business community in cleaning parts of the Woodlands suburb in the city.

Residents came in their numbers to fulfil the national obligations for cleanliness in their community in a clean-up campaign.

President Mnangagwa, recognizing the Constitutional mandate to uphold environmental fundamental rights and freedoms provided for in section 73 of the constitution of Zimbabwe the “right to an environment that is not harmful to tier health and well-being”, declared that every first Friday of each calendar month is a National Clean-Up Day.

Speaking during the clean-up campaign Dr Dube said as a company they have a responsibility to keep Woodlands clean.

“As RVP it is already our DNA to make sure we live and work in a clean as well as healthy environment and over the years we have shown our commitment to maintain hygienic environments. Hence we want this to be our everyday routine as Woodlands residents and also we will keep having these clean-up campaigns every first Friday of the month in line with the President’s proclamation,” she said.

One of the residents from Woodlands Mr Tafara Mangisi commented said River Valley loves working with the community.

“As residents, we feel honoured to have Dr Dube who is there to give us stands as well as teach us how to be clean. I am still amazed by her gesture to call out a clean-up campaign this side that shows that she cares about our well-being too and we are grateful and I assure her that we will try our level best to keep our Woodlands clean,” he said.

River Valley Group of Properties through its property subsidiary has developed housing projects in Gweru, Shurugwi and Bulawayo.
