President Mnangagwa has departed Luanda, Angola, following his participation in the highly successful 7th African Union-European Union Summit.

Speaking to Zimbabwean journalists prior to his departure, the President said during the summit, leaders from Africa and Europe deliberated on a range of issues, including current challenges to the continents’ future prospects.

“I am pleased that several Heads of State attended this summit.

“It was an opportunity for us to share both our challenges and the prospects for our region, as well as for Africa as a whole,” he said.

President Mnangagwa also noted the impressive pace of Angola’s ongoing development.

Zimbabwe, he added, could certainly learn valuable lessons from Angola’s progress.

“We, as Zimbabwe, are happy to learn from what Angola has achieved as a free country.

“They have done exceptionally well… the infrastructure they have developed is something we need to emulate,” he said.
