President Mnangagwa honours Mao Zedong during tour of China

Changsha, China– PRESIDENT Mnangagwa visited Mao Zedong Square, where he laid flower baskets at the bronze statue of the late Chinese leader, commemorating his role as the founder of the Chinese Communist Party. This gesture reflects the growing ties between Zimbabwe and China as President Mnangagwa prepares for the upcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) 2024.

The visit to the square is part of a broader engagement strategy aimed at deepening diplomatic and economic relations. As Zimbabwe seeks to attract investment and strengthen bilateral cooperation, the homage to Mao Zedong underscores the significance of historical ties between the two nations.
