President Mnangagwa leaves Ethiopia after attending AU 39th Summit

President Mnangagwa left Ethiopia for Harare this morning after attending the African Union’s (AU) 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government.

The President was seen off at Bole International Airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Professor Amon Murwira; Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ms Sophia Nyamudeza; Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ambassador Albert Chibindi; and Embassy staff.

The President is accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Lands, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Dr Anxious Masuka and Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Mr George Charamba.

Prof Murwira is attending the Ministerial Session of the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council, which began yesterday.

The summit enters its second day today, running under the theme “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063.”
