President Mnangagwa meets UN Tourism leader ahead of key tourism meetings

President Mnangagwa met United Nations Tourism Secretary-General Ms Shaikha Al Nowais today and discussed ways of advancing tourism in the country and globally.

Ms Nowais was accompanied by Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Barbara Rwodzi, as well as Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Professor Amon Murwira.

She arrived in the country on Sunday and is leading a high-level UN Tourism delegation.

Ms Nowais is the first woman to lead the organisation in its 50-year history.

She will hold a series of meetings with the aim of advancing sustainable and inclusive tourism.

This will include attending the 23rd UN Tourism Committee on Tourism and Sustainability and the second Regional Congress on Women’s Empowerment in Tourism.
