President mourns Adam Ndlovu

younger brother Peter seriously injured near the Victoria Falls International Airport.
“It was with a deep sense of shock and sadness that I learnt of the untimely death yesterday (Sunday) morning of one of our revered soccer legends, Adam Ndlovu, following a car accident near Victoria Falls International Airport,” the President said.

“Worse still, the same accident also claimed the life of another passenger while leaving his younger brother Peter with serious injuries.”

A woman identified as Nomcebo Tshili (24), who was in the same vehicle, died in the crash.
“On behalf of Government, the nation, and on my own behalf. I wish to condole with the Ndlovu family upon Adam’s passing on and to wish at the same time Peter’s speedy recovery from the injuries.”
The President urged motorists to exercise extreme caution on the roads.

“May I also appeal to the motoring public to exercise extreme caution on our roads at all times and even more so during this festive period in order to save life,” he said.

Adam (42) died when a BMW X5 they were travelling in burst its front left tyre, veered off the road before uprooting trees at the 417km peg, near Lupinyu Business Centre.

The Ndlovu brothers, who had left Bulawayo on Saturday night, were on their way to Victoria Falls for a friendly soccer match pitting Highlanders Legends and a Victoria Falls Social Soccer League select team.
The match was scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Chinotimba Stadium.

Peter escaped with injuries on his legs, forehead and rib and is recovering at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo.
