President Vladimir Putin marked Russia’s Victory Day by paying tribute to the Soviet Union’s role in defeating Nazism in World War II.
President Mnangagwa is among dozens of leaders attending the celebrations.
In his speech, President Putin emphasised Russia’s commitment to preserving its history and values.
“We faithfully preserve the memory of those historic, glorious events,” he said.
“Our fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers saved the Fatherland, and they bequeathed us to defend the Motherland.”
President Putin warned against attempts to distort history or justify Nazi collaborators, reaffirming Russia’s stance against Russophobia and anti-Semitism.
He expressed support for those involved in current military operations, praising their courage and determination.
The speech highlighted Russia’s reverence for its World War II heritage and its commitment to defending national interests.
