The Presidential Emergency Medical Scheme (PEMS) conducted a Basic First Aid Training at Kotwa High School in Mudzi District.

The event was facilitated by Discovery Ambulance Services in collaboration with Single Mothers for Economic Development. Discovery Ambulance Services founder and CEO, David Munowenyu said true to, His Excellency, President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision 2030, they were leaving no one and no place behind.

“We are here in Mudzi, at Kotwa High School, close to the Nyamapanda Border Post, where we are reaching out to everyone to train them lifesaving skills,” he said.

“In preparatory meetings, the District Medical Officer advised that the area is home to some of the country’s deadliest snakes so our training focused on snake bite remedies.“Of course, CPR was included as usual, and we are very happy with the turnout.”

Single Mothers for ED leader Cde Switch thanked President Mnangagwa for his visionary leadership, that had unleashed such initiatives. She said, “This training is important to us as single mothers because it has enlightened us on how to deal with emergencies that we face in our everyday lifes.”

About 150 people attended the training and of these 120 were women. The programme was well received and the Zanu PF Mudzi District Coordinating Committee asked for more programmes in different areas as they are widely geographically spaced.
