VICE President and Second Secretary of Zanu PF, Cde Kembo Mohadi, yesterday saluted President Mnangagwa’s commitment to the success of the party and the nation at large while taking stock of the remarkable success stories the country has achieved economically since the coming in of the Second Republic.

Vice President Mohadi, who was giving a vote of thanks after President Mnangagwa’s keynote address at the on-going Zanu PF National People’s Conference in Gweru, said the party was growing strong after the people of Zimbabwe endorsed the leadership of President Mnangagwa  by voting in large numbers and ensuring the party’s resounding victory in the August harmonised elections.

“Your Excellency, as the Zanu PF family, we are furthermore inspired to hold ourselves in high regard as a result of your bold and decisive leadership since the birth of the Second Republic.

“Once again your Excellency, let me on behalf of the party and myself congratulate you for leading us to another electoral victory in the month of August this year. This conference is therefore not only an opportunity to take stock of the progress we have made as a party but also presents us with a platform for laying a solid foundation for the future of Zimbabwe,” he said.

VP Mohadi said Zanu PF was committed to growing the country’s economy as well as solidifying the party.

“Through this conference Your Excellency, we expect that with the views we have discussed at this gathering, we reposition our party as the backdrop of our governance,” he said.

VP Mohadi said the party was working on improving the country’s economy through an inclusive approach despite the effects of sanctions.

“Your Excellency as a party, we take note of the milestone successes you have achieved in all sectors of the economy despite the debilitating effects of sanctions that have been imposed on us by our enemies,” he said.

The Vice President said the party had tangible success stories that made it saleable to the electorate during campaigns.

“Because of the achievements made under your leadership, Zanu-PF had to base its campaign on developmental mobilisation approach. While others were talking and telling tales, we were talking of our achievements which is a testimony of the irresistible path of success Zimbabwe is set on,” he said.

VP Mohadi thanked the President for cultivating a spirit of unity among the Zanu PF family.

He also commended the party’s national chairperson, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, for organising a successful people’s conference.
