A hastily arranged Zimbabwe Rugby Union President’s XV were completely outclassed by the visiting Steval Pumas in an international friendly match played in front of an appreciative crowd at Hartsfield Rugby Ground yesterday. The Hugo Kloppers led tourists scored 10 tries with six of them converted while the Jan Ferreira captained home team could not even manage any point throughout the match.

Sables assistant coach Nsikelelo Sibanda took charge of the team in the absence of head coach Cyprian Mandenge.

Marcelo Sampson, Bernardo Botha, Heinrich Steyl and Francois du Toit with two conversions booted in by flyhalf Marlou Van Niekerk for the Pumas to lead 29-0 going into the break.

Five more tries in the second half, two of them converted ensured that the Pumas return to South Africa victorious.

Former Under-20 player, centre Ngoni Chibuwe, a product of the Sharks Academy was by far the most outstanding player for the President’s XV who were overwhelmed by the visitors in almost all departments of the game.

The Pumas are preparing for the Vodacom Cup which they won in 2015 as well as the Currie Cup where they finished in sixth place out of eight teams last year.
