FORMER Highlanders striker, Prince Dube attended his first training session with his new club, Azam of Tanzania on Tuesday, a day after completing his move from Amahlolanyama.
Azam posted on their social media platforms photos of Dube in the team’s colours while attending a training session as they fine tune for the start of the new season on 12 September.
The player, who wore jersey number 73 at Highlanders last season in honour of his mother who was born in 1973 has settled for number 29 at his new club. He previously used number 13 at Highlanders, the same number he dons for the national team. It is the shirt number that was worn by the late former Warriors striker Adam Ndlovu.
The Zimbabwe Football Association tried to retire the number in honour of the departed “Adamski” but Fifa laws do not permit for that at international level.

The 23-year old signed for Azam on Monday after undergoing medical tests. Dube became the seventh registration at free spending Azam in this registration window in preparation for next season, with other signings being goalkeeper David Kissu, left defender Emmanuel Charles, Ally Niyonzima, attackers, Awesu Awesu, Ismail Aziz and Ayoub Lyanga.
Azam are looking to close off their registration process by signing another foreign striker.
At Azam, who are mentored by Romanian Aristica Cioaba, the Warriors striker will link up with fellow Zimbabweans, Bruce Kangwa and Never Tigere. Last season, Azam finished third in the Tanzanian Premier League, behind second placed Young Africans and champions Simba Sports Club.
