Prof Ncube to address global investors at IAE 2025 Forum

MINISTER of Finance, Economic Planning and Investment Promotion, Professor Mthuli Ncube, will meet with global investors at the upcoming Invest in African Energy (IAE) 2025 Forum.
The forum will take place in Paris, France, on May 13-14.

As the keynote speaker, Professor Ncube will present Zimbabwe’s energy investment outlook, economic reform agenda, and initiatives aimed at mobilising private capital across various energy sectors.
According to a press statement, the organisers of the forum, Energy Capital and Power. Minister Ncube’s participation at IAE 2025 underscores Zimbabwe’s commitment to creating an enabling investment environment and positioning energy as a vital pillar of national development.

The country’s strategic location, abundant resource potential, and improving macroeconomic stability render it an attractive destination for long-term infrastructure and energy investments.
“Minister Ncube’s keynote will provide investors with crucial insights into the policy direction and financing mechanisms that will shape Zimbabwe’s energy future,” said Sandra Jeque, the Energy Capital and Power’s Events and Project Director.

“His presence at IAE 2025 highlights the country’s strong desire to deepen international investment partnerships in support of energy access and industrialisation.”

Zimbabwe is poised for significant energy sector expansion in response to rising industrial and consumer demands.
The country aims to reduce its reliance on electricity imports while supporting long-term economic transformation.

Key investment opportunities identified include power generation, transmission infrastructure, oil and gas exploration, and the deployment of renewable energy, particularly solar and hydroelectric resources.

Currently, Zimbabwe faces an estimated US$4.8 billion funding gap for large-scale solar projects. In response, the government is actively working to broaden the pool of available capital and enhance financial inclusion, while also striving to secure more favourable terms for foreign investors in energy infrastructure.

The IAE 2025 Forum is an exclusive event designed to bridge African energy markets with global investors. For two days, delegates will engage with industry experts, project developers, investors, and policymakers, fostering meaningful discussions on investment opportunities.
