Kudzai “Dee Nosh” Matondo said plans were afoot to bring in more South African artistes in an effort to popularise house music in Harare.

The DJ, together with Elroy “L-Roy” Miller and Bulawayo-based Sound Kalcha, successfully hosted the much hyped Professor show on Independence Eve.

“The massive turnout at the Professor gig made us realise the need to also cater for house music fans based in Harare.
“We had only six days to market the show but through that we managed to get over a thousand people to attend the show,” he said.

The former Stars Studio resident DJ said he was aiming at making Circus International Club the home of house music because of its capacity to host a large number of people.

House Tradition

“Circus International is the biggest indoor club in Harare with a capacity of about 1 800 people, which is going to be conducive for the monthly house traditions we have initiated.
“Every month, a house artiste is going to come through to perform. At the moment Vetkuk of the ‘Via Orlando’ fame is next on our list,” he said.

Dee Nosh said he was now working hand-in-glove with Cindo, DJ Tira and other South African artistes for a collaboration with Zimbabweans for the first ever house compilation.
